Saleem Kallel Khan has updated his GUI Replacement mod to version 1.1. For the update follow this link.
Here is what he wrote:
There are 15 files in this update to Kallel's GUI MOD.
Some textures were tweaked and some new ones created where they would have been missing in the initial release.
This update was done to have a more completed look to the mod replacement.
If you have downloaded this mod and are currently enjoying using it please let us know in the comments section. This is a request for users to add more comments on this piece of work. Initially MOO3 contained about 100 screens but this was cut down to about 20
screens. The large number of screens was the obvious justification for having such a low graphic GUI. However when about 80% of the game was cut out, for whatever reason, it meant that this reason became invalid. So clearly the GUI should have been re-done to make the game more visually appealing since most of the intellectual appeal of a 'MEGA' strategy game was cut out.
Here's a thought, maybe ATARI can release some of the chunks of the initial version of MOO3 as a free downloadable add on to the game. Of course this brings us back to the reason it was downsized in the first place, i.e. coding problems and work ability issues.
Finally, if you like the work presented here in this mod please let us and the folks at ATARI Interactive know. Maybe they could give this designer some work. |
